Hello! I’ve been practicing gentle Chiropractic since 2001. I pride myself on being thorough and effective using gentle yet direct bodywork on joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia. I work with many people who wish to manage their chronic pain including those with nerve and disc injury, bursitis and tendonitis, plus people seeking a comprehensive approach to their health and staying well. I am trained in many techniques, you can read about these below.
Applied Kinesiology
Your nervous system monitors and coordinates all your body interactions. On that basis, the Applied Kinesiology™ practitioner uses muscle testing to assess your nervous system function and find a solution to your health concerns. Applied Kinesiology is used by primary health care professionals highly skilled in the assessment and application of structural correction, nutrition, cranio-sacral therapy, meridian therapy, visceral (organ) therapy, immune system function, Retained Neonatal Reflexes® and /or many other health aspects.
Sacro – Occipital Technique (SOT)
Sacro Occipital Technic (SOT) is a gentle chiropractic technique that addresses the functional relationship between the Sacrum (base of the spine) the pelvis and the occiput (base of the skull). By undertaking a physical assessment of the patient and applying the technique, SOT improves the flow of the cerebral spinal fluid and the foundational support for the skeleton to allow for optimum structure and function.
Frequency Specific Microcurrent
Frequency-specific microcurrent (FSM) is a technique for treating pain by using low-level electrical current. The current is delivered to certain parts of your body in an attempt to relieve pain.
FSM is most often used to treat pain, especially nerve and muscle pain, inflammation, and scar tissue, from the following conditions:
- Shingles.
- Irritable bowel syndrome.
- Disc injuries.
- Fibromyalgia.
- Diabetes-related neuropathy.
- Neuromas (overgrowth and scarring to a nerve after an injury).
- Tendinopathy (inflammation and/or swelling of the tendon).
- Acute (sudden) and chronic (long-term) musculoskeletal injuries.
- Acute and chronic neuropathic (nerve) pain.
- Chronic fracture and bone pain.
- Arthritis.
- Torticollis (the head is tilted to one side).
- Disc injuries/discogenic- and facet-based pain.
- Viscerally-referred pain
- Headaches.
- Plantar fasciitis (pain in the heel and foot).
- Sports injuries.
Neuro Organisational Technique
Neural Organisation Technique is a comprehensive holistic health care system developed by Dr Carl Ferreri. NOT integrates low force Chiropractic spinal care, Sacro Occipital Technique [SOT] concepts, Applied Kinesiology [AK] principles and testing, together with holistic health approaches from Western and Eastern Science in an evidenced based, contemporary neuroscience framework.
The collective aim of NOT is to restore your Nervous System health to facilitate energy efficient self regulation of your key body functions. Ensuring your survival systems of feeding, fight/flight, reproduction and immune health can be engaged as required. Modern life often “pushes” us toward a state of “Sympathetic Dominance” with our fight/flight responses engaged persistently depleting our ability to regulate sufficient daily energy and digestive health.
Neuro – Emotional Technique
NET is used by Body-oriented practitioners to help physical problems that have an associated stress component.Stress can definitely be a factor in acute situations, and it is also often a factor in chronic and hard-to-resolve conditions. When doing NET, the practitioner uses a functional neurology manual muscle test as a tool to help identify involuntary physiological responses. In this way, the muscle test is used as a gauge of autonomic reactivity to given physical and/or verbal stimuli.
Health is a very personal journey, where empowerment and respect for choice is vital.
I look forward to being part of your team on your journey to dynamic balance.
